Con-Tech General Contractors is looking to add an energetic ( Water & Sewer) Heavy Equipment Operator to our growing company. This candidate will be a part of an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable codes while maintaining high quality, safe and effective operation of various pieces of equipment and a safe workplace. Responsibilities:
- Operates heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and workplans.
- Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Advises Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repair.
- Participates in routine fueling and maintenance.
- Practices workplace safety.
- May perform other related duties as required.
- Heavy Equipment operation may include but is not limited to Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steer and Packers.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in Heavy Equipment operation.
- Previous water/sewer experience is an asset.
- Must be able to interpret grade stakes, clear, strip, excavate, backfill, ditch, and stockpile.
- Able to cut and spread material.
- Able to grade to final grade and finish slopes.
- Able to perform surface and drainage maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Adheres to company Health, Safety,& Environmental reporting and standard assessments.
- Must be a team player.
- A valid 1A driver’s license an asset.
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing as required on a project by project basis.
- Ground Disturbance II an asset.
- WHMIS 2015.
